Taking a text from the client, the artist, James Batek, encodes the text using his own binary code, then converts the code into colored squares. If the squares fit into a nice rectangle, the work is printed as art. About one in two texts make a nice rectangle, so before printing some dialog is necessary between artist and client. Texts might be inspirational words, names of loved ones, or anything desired.

Client-authored English Transformation Art introduction
Client-authored English Transformation Art is a word or two converted into a binary code which is then converted into colored squares. Only about one out of every two such texts will make a nice rectangle, so the client submits a list of several texts (send it to the artist, batekstart@yahoo.com) and the artist, James Batek, calculates which will make nice rectangles. The client then makes his final selection from those that work.
Text, colors, size, and yes or no to signature are the full artwork specification, and all need to be decided before payment and printing.
Size and yes or no to signature solely determine price.

Colors are chosen from ten schemes. Click here to see samples. Each has a code beginning with the letter "c".
Size starts at 18"x24", then goes to 24"x36", then goes to 36"x48".
Here are the price combinations:

Unsigned will have the text and color code, and the words "English Transformation Art by James Batek" printed discretely below the art. (The loud print of text and color code you see on the samples will not appear on the actual art.)
Specials are available now. Graduates of Glenbard West High School, such as the artist is, and graduates of Yale, such as the artist is, will be pleased to know that English Transformation Art of both "GLENBARD WEST" and "YALE" are available at a large price reduction. You still need to choose a color scheme, size of print, and yes or no to signature. (Color scheme c209 is greenish and is recommended for "GLENBARD WEST". Color scheme c210 is blueish and is recommended for "YALE". Neither scheme meets the official requirements for the school's colors.) This option has its own Paypal button, below the button for regular sales, here in the sidebar. Prices subject to change without notice.
Shipping within the continental U.S. and Canada, is included for all sizes. Regarding tax: English Transformation Art, the business, is physically located in the state of Illinois. Only residents of Illinois are subject to tax on ETA ordered online, but at this time there is reportedly no effort being made by the state to collect tax on internet sales if they are small and sporadic. The situation is in flux and every effort to be in compliance with the law as enforced will be made, and updates will be made here as needed. Another note on tax: by law, it is always the customer's responsibility, not the seller's, to see to it sales, or use, taxes are paid, if a state does require them to be paid.
When all four specifications have been decided, fill then into the fields for the Paypal button here in the sidebar, above, and then click on the button to make payment authorizing creation, printing, and shipping of the work.

The artist got his introduction to art taking art history from Vincent Scully at Yale, worked in the office of Walter Gropius, then deceased, after graduation, and turned to art after three years of architecture graduate studies at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. There was a show of oils in 1996 at Truman College in Chicago, and, at a Chicago Starbucks, a show of ink drawings, all done in the store of customers, artifacts, and interiors, in 2007.
